Telehandler Tires
Reach for the sky; the telehandlers we know today derive from forklifts and enable greater reach for conveying loads at height. The pioneer of this out-reaching technology was a U.K firm called Matbro, based in Surrey who designed and manufactured all-terrain fork-lifts in the 1960’s and ‘70’s. With foresight that extended-reach load carrying would simplify operations in various fields – and so be more cost-efficient – the company pioneered what we now refer to as telehandlers. The first adaptations of the basic fork-lift truck were tailored first for forestry, then later for agricultural requirements. Now telehandlers are be seen in many diverse industrial environments, often employed as an easier and cheaper alternative to a static crane. In order to be safe and efficient, telehandlers need to maintain a good, reliable foot-print – this is a basic principal of physics. And the most efficient of these machines are all equipped with McLaren tires…
Nu-Air Dirt Terrain (DT) Tires
Safety. Efficiency. Durability. These are the three watch-words when deciding on tires for a vehicle. The three separate compounds illustrated in McLaren’s Nu-Air Technology ensure that our Dirt Terrain tires fulfill these requirements by using unsurpassed technological advancements. Bound together with fantastic production values, these attributes give the Nu-Air range 3 – 5 times more work-life than that of other makes of tire and unsurpassed traction. When things get dirty, DT tires are the answer.
- Sizes: 12×16.5; 13×24; 14×24
- Applications: Rugged off-road pattern designed for all earth, sand, snow and quarry environments.
The Nu-Air range employ McLaren’s innovative, hybrid Semi-Pneumatic Technology. This combines the strength of solid tires with the smoother ride of traditional pneumatics. Whilst providing the most efficient balance between stability and traction, these tires provide the toughness of a solid construction with reduced vibration to help insulate the load, the undercarriage (so reducing mechanical wear), and of course – the operator’s ride! For the safety of advanced tread design and manufacture; for the efficiency of puncture-proof architecture and minimal vibration; for the durability of our quality rubber compounds – Nu-Air are the optimal telehandler tire choice.
NU-Air All Terrain (AT) Tire
To cater for the increasing usage of telehandlers in different environments, McLaren have produced the Nu-Air All Terrain tire. This model runs smoothly with all our integrity on hard-surfaced areas though is enabled to operate off-road when required. The versatility of the AT tire makes it a popular choice for jobs where the landscape changes in the course of work, saving the need for a change of tires during the project.
- Sizes: 12×16.5; 13×24; 14×24
- Application: Designed primarily for asphalt and hard-standing and also moderate off-road operation.

The Wide Footprint Design employed extends traction giving all the mechanical benefits this brings. Another advantage of a wider machine footprint is the lowered impact on the work surface that can be helpful in wet working conditions.
Nu-Air Rocky Terrain (RT) Tire
With all the Nu-Air attributes of our other telehandler rubber, the Rocky Terrain version is built to boldly go where no other tire has gone before. McLaren RT tires are the heaviest duty a telehandler could possibly require – if it’s not possible to operate in a landscape with these tires, then it’s no place for a machine!
- Sizes: 14×24
- Applications: Rocky terrain; perfect for severe surface operation on abrasive waste (i.e. in scrap yards, demolition sites)
